When on holiday in the region, Collioure is a must. You'll discover a picturesque village in the south of France, but above all a lively place where life is good and where people like to spend the day during their stay at the 4-star Laroque-des-Albères campsite.
Situated in the heart of the Côte Vermeille, Collioure is superb with its colourful, flower-filled streets bathed in a pleasant Mediterranean climate all year round. Just 20 minutes from Les Albères campsite, we really recommend a day trip to explore this town full of surprises.
COLLIOURE'S MUST-SEES
What better way to discover Collioure than by tourist train? Climb aboard the train for a journey from the heart of the town to its heights, from where you can enjoy an incredible panorama of the Pyrenees. Ideal for getting an overview of the village and the Côte Vermeille, it's a great opportunity to spot spots for your walks.
After this overview, it's time to wander the colourful streets of Collioure for a proper exploration! Stroll along the Chemin du Fauvisme, reach the Mouré district and make a beeline for the port.
Make sure you stop off at the local shops to sample the anchovies, a delicious local speciality, which you can take with you for the evening meal at Les Albères campsite.
When you set foot in this magnificent commune in the Pyrénées-Orientales, you'll want to pay a visit to the Fort Saint Elme, the Château Royal, the Church of Notre Dame des Anges and the oil mill, all of which are emblematic of the town.
Collioure is Languedoc-Roussillon, but it's also the Mediterranean Sea with its superb landscapes and seascapes, an ideal playground for walks with family and friends. Take the coastal path for your walks and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the whole of Collioure Bay.
